The Maiden Tower, apparently built in the 12th century. It is said a maiden threw herself from the top of the tower. Maybe she didn't like the look of the chap who climbed up to save her?

The old part of the city of Baku is beautiful and a real maze of winding alleys. I went up the Maiden Tower today then strolled around the streets. Avoided all the rug sellers as well.
